Danish Cocktail Bar “Bar NU” Takes Over “Gondolen” for One Night Only
On March 15, Stockholm’s iconic Gondolen welcomes Danish cocktail bar Bar NU from Odense for a one-night guest shift in connection with the Bartenders’ Choice Awards.
On Sunday, March 15, Gondolen will host acclaimed Danish cocktail bar Bar NU for a special guest appearance. The visit coincides with the Bartenders’ Choice Awards gala in Stockholm, where Bar NU is nominated for Best Cocktail Bar in Denmark, and bartender Helene Rosenfeldt is nominated for Best Bartender in Denmark.
For one evening only, Bar NU’s team will work side by side with Gondolen’s bartenders, serving four signature cocktails alongside Gondolen’s regular menu. The lineup includes Americano^3 and Not Safe For Work—both also available in non-alcoholic versions—as well as Nu Orleans and Peach & Beets. The cocktails will be available exclusively during the guest shift.
Inviting leading bars and bartenders for collaborations has become a recurring part of Gondolen’s program. Last year, the venue welcomed The Connaught from London, and this year the spotlight turns to Bar NU, which since opening in November 2024 has quickly established itself as one of Denmark’s most talked-about cocktail destinations.
“Bar NU is a brilliant example of what happens when talented people with a clear vision refuse to compromise on quality. I’ve previously met their bar manager William Kuhlmann in competition settings, and I’m excited to finally swap the podium for a shared bar shift,” says Oscar Tamker of Gondolen.
Maria Hallhagen of Gondolen highlights the meeting of two bar cultures as central to the evening:
“Guest shifts like this are exactly what we want to offer our guests—two different worlds coming together under one roof.”
For Bar NU, the Stockholm visit is equally meaningful.
“Gondolen is an institution known throughout the Nordics, and standing behind the bar alongside their team is something we truly look forward to. This is a night we’ll bring back home to Odense,” says Rasmus Greve, co-founder of Bar NU.
