Mocha Mousse: The Pantone color 2025 as a dessert

The combination of chocolate and coffee always works! The recipe for the Pantone color of the year 2025 is Mocha Mousse.

Ingredients (6 servings)
150 g dark chocolate
30 ml freshly brewed coffee
1 teaspoon(s) Instant coffee
3 Eggs (separated into yolks and whites)
1 Pk. Vanilla sugar
125 g Cream
2 tablespoon(s) Sugar
1 Ready-made cake base
4 cl Amaretto (chocolate liqueur is also suitable)
Almonds or slivered almonds (optional)
  • Melt the chocolate in a water bath. Stir in the brewed coffee and coffee powder.
  • Then beat the egg yolks with the vanilla sugar until frothy. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff; in another bowl, beat the cream with the sugar until stiff.
  • Stir the egg yolk mixture into the chocolate mixture. Add the cream and finally fold in the egg whites. Chill the mousse.
  • In the meantime, cut the cake base into approx. 18 cubes, each 3 cm x 3 cm long, and soak in the amaretto.
  • Place 3 cubes of cake base in a dessert glass. Divide the mousse between the glasses and chill the for approx. 3 hours before serving. Optionally, the dessert can be decorated with slivered almonds.
