Gaetano Rubinelli is the progenitor of the Rubinelli family, which has always been based in the Valpolicella region. After planning and building the Chievo dam on the Adige river, which supplied Verona's industry with electricity at the beginning of the 20th century, he bought the Vajol estate in the heart of historic Valpolicella because of its perfect shell shape. Over the years, the Rubinelli family's desire to produce a Vajol Cru that fully expresses the excellence of this land's produce has crystallised.
