Falstaff Wine Guide Germany 2026

The twins Andreas and Michael Wenninger write lovingly about their vineyards in Sommerhausen, about the climate on the Main, the shell limestone soils on which they ensure biodiversity with lush, species-rich greenery. In the cellar the winegrowers rely on "controlled idleness" to preserve the character of the vineyards. Here in the wine guide, they make their - very good - debut with a duo of fine Silvaner and a well-balanced Pinot Noir, which leads the collection. The family also runs a distillery and a guest house in the middle of the vineyards.

The Felshof winery is making its debut in the guide this year. The gently drawn local wines are full of grape variety aromas, soft and fresh and intended for immediate enjoyment. There is something summery about them. The semi-dry Scheurebe shows that this winery, which has made aromatic varieties its specialty, can also be crisper. The single-vineyard wines really are personalities that you can spend an entire evening with. The Silvaner in particular shows a lot of its shell limestone charm and is likely to develop further.
