The red wine Baldero Chianti Classico DOCG, vintage 2016 from the winery Carus has been rated in 2020 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Sangiovese from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich ruby with a light garnet edge. Very intense nose, opens with earthy notes, some red beet, then lots of ripe plum. Dense and compact on the palate, unfolds with grippy tannin, ripe plum fruit, salty and good tension on the finish.
More about the tastingBrilliant ruby with a fine garnet sheen. Opens with notes of beetroot and some raspberry on the nose. Juicy on the palate, but also somewhat narrow-chested, quite angular on the finish.
