Tasting Notes
Dark ruby, purple reflections, delicate bright rim. Under a touch of toasty aromas and caramel lots of black fruit, violet, blueberry confit, cherry, some menthol, fine wood and leather, a great blend of merlot and cabernet franc flavours. Powerful, taut, sweet black berry again, integrated tannins, fresh acidity, mineral on the finish with vivid wood spiciness. Definitely too young in this bottle format, a ticking time bomb in a positive sense.
More about the tastingDeep dark ruby garnet, youthful reflections, violet rim. Juicy dark berry fruit on the nose, some blackberries, delicate spice aromas, fine sweetness, but also smoky minerality, a multi-layered bouquet. Full-bodied on the palate, again of black berries, finesse-rich acid structure, powerful use of wood, very present, yet the tannins are perfectly integrated, a relatively fiery Cheval Blanc with meat on the bone, which already has an excellent texture and length, very storable.
