Medium ruby in colour with orange reflections and brightening on the broad rim. The nose is multi-faceted and inviting with aromas of sweet fruit, dried fruit, dark confit, delicate balsamic, truffle nuances, liquorice, and mint. The palate is rich in finesse, with a highly elegant texture, fine, quite racy acidity, fully grown-up tannins, full of nuances of candied orange, chocolate and exotic spices, the wine has real depth and charisma, with cherry fruit and pleasant notes of truffles and herbal spice on the convincingly long finish. Now at a real peak of age. A great wine, from the single bottle perhaps already a step above its zenith.
