The red wine Franchetti IGT, vintage 2011 from the winery Passopisciaro has been rated in 2013 with 95 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the region Sicily in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby purple colour with a black core. Extremely compact on the nose, with notes of dark redcurrant and elderberry, underpinned by pronounced peppery notes. Lots of plump fruit on the palate, also rich savoury notes, dark pepper and cardamom, then opens up with lots of pithy, dense tannins, long finish, fresh and juicy.
