Tasting Notes

94 - 96
Tasting from 31.12.2019: Ulrich Sautter

Closed, but an undertone notion of terpene-savouriness, flowers, leafy greens and bergamot. Some wood. Stone dust. With a lot of air, after 30 minutes standing time also nougat. Compact on the palate, with a taut acid structure and concise phenolics, boldness, muscular and stocky, with an almost forbidding nature at this point. Powerful in all components, including alcohol. The substance is great, as is the magnificent ageing potential. The finish is intensely tactile and mineral. The oldest vines in the plot date back to 1928.
