The fortified wines VR1003 Marsala Vergine Riserva DOC, vintage 2003 from the winery Cantine Florio has been rated in 2022 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grillo from the region Sicily in Italy.
Powerful, bright and intense amber. Complex nose, intense notes of dates and figs, some smoke, light tobacco and apricot. On the palate there are notes of wax and honeycomb, spreads well, lots of dried figs, at the same time also emphasises salty notes, seems balanced and elegant, still very young, resonates a very long time.
