The red wine Spätburgunder Schlossberg, vintage 2008 from the winery Fürstlich Castell’sche Domäne has been rated in 2010 with 89 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Franconia in Germany.
Dark ruby red, some violet. Initially very closed on the nose. Restrained dark berries and an increasing cherry aroma. Concentrated on the palate, balanced with a compact tannin structure, vital acidity and sweetness from the alcohol, but also from the ripe fruit. Very beautiful, velvety texture, densely woven, with a chocolaty aftertaste on the finish.
