The white wine Castell Schlossberg Silvaner GG, vintage 2012 from the winery Fürstlich Castell’sche Domäne has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 94+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Silvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
Very light in colour for this wine. A complex nose shows Linden blossom honey, ripe peach and candied lemon, as well as a mineral note and more herbal box notes. Fresh on the palate, it's full-bodied with beautiful phenolics and a mineral-tinged extract in great density. The alcohol is well integrated. A great Silvaner that will still stand up well in a few years' time.
