The red wine Dalsheim Spätburgunder S, vintage 2016 from the winery Geils Sekt- und Weingut has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Extremely vivid fresh berry fruit, red and black currant, grapey aromas, wild blueberry, nuanced. The palate is punchy, smoothly grounded but with firm tannins and a rich palate impression, ripe very well integrated acidity, and then again this beautifully clear, bright fruit on the finish. The oak barrel aging is obvious but not prominent. It has an excellent balance and very great length.
