The red wine Galatrona IGT, vintage 2012 from the winery Petrolo has been rated in 2015 with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Clear ruby with purple shimmer. Opens with slightly earthy notes on the nose, then lily and violet, lots of rich blackberry and plum fruit, with fine cocoa in the background. Plays great on the palate, vivid, juicy fruit, ripe but never overripe, fresh, juicy and salty, fine-meshed tannins in many layers, very polished and long.
