The red wine Galatrona IGT, vintage 2014 from the winery Petrolo has been rated in 2017 by Othmar Kiem with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Rich, impenetrable ruby with a purple sheen. Very intense and compact nose, rich of blueberries, blackberries and dark currants, background of cardamom and damp forest floor. Shows finely meshed, hearty tannins on the palate, juicy, dark fruit, very crunchy, lingers long, but does not have the fullness and drive of other vintages.
