The red wine Mamertino Rosso DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Planeta has been rated in 2023 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Nero d’Avola, Nocera from the region Sicily in Italy.
Bright ruby colour with dark nuances and garnet rim. On the nose nuances of dark fruit, as well as slightly smoky and a touch of gunpowder. Polished on the palate, spreads wide, with powerful body and firm tannins, long finish.
More about the tastingBright, light ruby red. Rum pot and cold smoke on the nose, then ripe cranberries and marasca cherries, slightly peppery on the finish. Fine-grained tannins on the palate, very salty and fresh, drinkable, long finish.
