The red wine Grande Escolha, vintage 2016 from the winery Quinta da Plansel has been rated in 2021 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Tinta Barocca, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional from the region Alentejo in Portugal.
Has a very intense fruit aroma. Fig and concentrated wild berries, some cocoa. A very high amount of grippy, fine-grained, very firm tannins appear in the mouth, the massive alcohol is slightly noticeable even through this massive extract, but is compensated for by hauntingly sweet fruit. Should age well.
