The white wine »Geheimrat J« Rheingau Riesling trocken, vintage 1990 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Light golden yellow with reddish reflections. A minimal hint of "air", but above all, apple, apple slice, blossom honey, dried pear. In the mouth there are finely melted phenolics, silky, very fine acidity, delicately mineral, a medium-bodied wine in complete balance and harmony, very old school in its cut, classic in the best sense. Firm but ripe acidity and minerality that lingers in the background.
