The white wine Geheimrat J Riesling Spaetlese trocken Vintage Collection, vintage 2008 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2018 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Rheingau in Germany.
There is a ripe Riesling savouriness with hints of petrol but also citrus and yellow fruit notes, as well as pineapple. It has a soft attack on the palate, a tight acidity, nice supporting sweetness, good tension and still plenty of fruit reserves. It has a rounded structure on the finish, along with spicy flavours with subtle caramelized and exciting floral overtones.
