The white wine »Lay« Riesling feinherb, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingüter Wegeler – Gutshaus Rheingau has been rated in 2024 by Ulrich Sautter with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Moselle in Germany.
Multi-layered aroma with berryish tones, tropical notes (candied pineapple), slate savouriness and a hint of overripeness harmoniously integrated into the fruit. On the palate the wine is very calm and balanced, with substance and acidity dominating and alcohol and fruit providing a foundation for the final aromas. Still at the very beginning.
