The red wine Assmannshausen Pinot Noir trocken, vintage 2023 from the winery Weingut August Kesseler has been rated in 2025 by Ulrich Sautter with 93+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Pinot Noir from the region Rheingau in Germany.
Ethereal and subtle on the nose: herbs, slate savouriness, the typical blackcurrant notes and just enough wood to emphasise the delicacy of the aroma. In the mouth, the wine proves to be firmly extracted, nerve and minerality provide tension, the tannins and fruit guarantee certain ageing potential. Five years at least, probably 15.
