The white wine »Grand Vin« Chardonnay, vintage 2019 from the winery Weingut Axel Bauer has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Chardonnay from the region Baden in Germany.
The nose reveals a slightly reductive spiciness with floral undertones and a hint of liquorice. In the mouth, it's still very quiet and introverted, with a firm acidity and fine-grained phenolics sketching the structure. The body has nothing exuberant and is more tightly wrapped than with a focus on volume, despite very good substance.
