The red wine Grande Cuvée d´Or, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Franz Schindler has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 97 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon from the region Leithaberg in Austria.
Deep ruby garnet colour, purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Subtle notes of blackberries, fine chocolate, floral touch, black cherries, delicate nuances of liquorice. Juicy, complex, fine tannin structure, mineral, subtle hints of cinnamon, fresh cherries on the finish, lingers long, a multilayered food wine.
More about the tastingDark ruby with a black core, purple reflections and delicate edge brightening. Nougat and dark forest berry confit, a hint of cinnamon, floral touches, blackberry and an inviting precious oak note. With good complexity, it has multi-layered, well-integrated, velvety tannins and chocolaty touches. With sweet cherries on the finish, it has definite ageing potential.
