The white wine Appenheimer Silvaner trocken, vintage 2012 from the winery Weingut Knewitz has been rated in 2014 with 88 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grüner Sylvaner from the region Rhine Hesse in Germany.
Relatively strong color. Expressive bouquet: spicy floral notes, very ripe fruit and hazelnut as well as a residue of aromas from the spontaneous fermentation. On the palate, an interplay of suppleness and substance, sophisticatedly built, round with ripe acidity. A powerful wine, but one that maintains its balance. Phenolic on the finish and with almost viscous layers that hint at further development potential.
