The white wine »Grande Réserve« Grauer Burgunder Auslese trocken, vintage 2020 from the winery Weingut Ökonomierat Petgen-Dahm has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 90 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grauer Burgunder from the region Moselle in Germany.
Pale lemon yellow with greenish reflections. The nose shows a pronounced floral note, elderflower, white currant fruit, some smoky (terroir?) notes, hazelnut and wood aromas. The palate opens with hearty substance, remains disciplined in alcohol and adds some ripeness and a pronounced woody creaminess to the finish.
More about the tastingOn the nose, subtle roasted notes from the oak meet ripe burgundy fruit, notes of Charentais melon and a slightly chalky-spicy undertone. The powerful structure is full-bodied, supported by very well-integrated acidity, the wine combines fullness with freshness.
