The white wine Forst Kirchenstück Riesling GG, vintage 2018 from the winery Weingut Reichsrat von Buhl has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 96 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Riesling from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Yeast is marked in the fragrance, but at the same time this is anything but simple: in the background floral, mineral savoury, rock dust, red 'Kampot' pepper, and even a breath of stone fruit. Finely textured in the mouth, buttery phenolics, ripe, just round tasting acidity, full mid-palate, but no alcohol excess, before the phenolics condense in unison with mineral perceptions on the finish.
