The red wine Zweigelt Carnuntum DAC Ried Steinäcker Höflein 1ÖTW, vintage 2019 from the winery Bio-Weingut Robert Payr has been rated in 2021 by Peter Moser with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Zweigelt from the region Carnuntum in Austria.
It has a deep dark ruby colour, with an opaque core, purple reflections, and a delicate bright rim. On the nose it is still somewhat reserved, with an aroma of black cherry, a tobacco touch, and with blackberry in the background, as well as fresh plum, and notes of herbs. It is powerful, complex, again with dark cherry, a fresh structure, supporting tannins, some minerality on the finish, a red berry touch, persistence, and it has certain ageing potential, but it still needs time.
