The red wine »Edition Premium Réserve unfiltered« Merlot trocken, vintage 2019 from the winery Wachtenburg Winzer eG has been rated in 2023 by Ulrich Sautter with 89+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Pfalz (Palatinate) in Germany.
Amarena cherry, buttercream cake and chocolate on the nose. In the mouth, the wine starts with dense tannins and ripe acidity, a lot of texture and viscosity in the background. On the finish, the powerful alcohol and the still youthfully astringent tannins work together. An Amarone!
