The red wine »Premium SL« Zell Abtsberg Syrah, vintage 2018 from the winery Weinmanufaktur Gengenbach-Offenburg has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter with 90+ Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Baden in Germany.
Characterised by highly ripe grape fruit on the nose: Amarena and cocktail cherry, cocoa and herbal, almost mentholated overtones. A dense, mellow tannin fills the palate, underpinned by lively acidity, the structural part forms a strong contrast to the supple fullness and alcohol in the background. Tactile mineral notes emerge on the finish, although the alcohol also becomes noticeable before cherry fruit takes over the stage.
