Even if he is no longer in the first flush of youth, Manfred Rothe has kept his inquisitive spirit and innate curiosity. His skin-fermented white wines made in qvevri and barrel are an arresting flavour experience. Even his estate wines already show minerality which he knows how to tease from the Triassic limestone. He makes wines that are just predestined for the table. It thus only follows that a bistro and wine garden has been added to the estate. A place of pleasure, as Rothe puts it: “Nature in its finest guise with organic quality.”
