Third Gordon Ramsay Restaurant at London's Savoy

Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay will open at The Savoy in London on 23 February, the hotel's third restaurant helmed by the celebrity chef .

The name of Restaurant 1890 by Gordon Ramsay pays homage to French chef Georges Auguste Escoffier who joined The Savoy that year. It is described as a "highly exclusive, contemporary fine dining" restaurant, opening only for dinner and seating 26 guests.

Gordon Ramsay says Restaurant 1890 "creates a blend between unparalleled service, culinary creativity and exquisite wines". The tasting menu is described as seasonal modern French with European influences, prepared by executive head chef James Sharp and his team.

Sharp, who was the senior sous chef at Michelin-starred Pétrus by Gordon Ramsay, describes 1890 as offering an exclusive kitchen table experience in a restaurant setting: “It’s always been a dream of mine to run an intimate tasting menu restaurant in such a beautiful location," he said.

The exclusive tasting menu will be priced at £110/$147 per person, with bespoke wine pairing options. The restaurant will be open Wednesday to Saturday with two dinner sittings.

It will be the third operated by Ramsay's restaurant group at The Savoy. He opened the second, River Restaurant, which focuses on on seafood, last year and took over The Savoy Grill, in 2003.
