Nordic gastronomy, sustainable flavours and Estonia’s new creative generation take centre stage in Stockholm. On May 22, Rosendals Trädgård will transform into a showcase of contemporary Estonian culture as Visit Estonia hosts an exclusive lunch ahead of the city festival “Hooked on Estonia.”

Set in the greenhouse venue Växthuset Vinbär on Stockholm’s Djurgården island, the gathering invites selected media representatives and travel industry insiders to discover the flavours, creativity and atmosphere currently shaping Estonia’s modern identity.

The event serves as a curated preview of the larger “Hooked on Estonia” festival taking place the following day, May 23, when Rosendals Trädgård will come alive with food, music, design and cultural experiences inspired by Estonia’s new creative wave.

From sustainable Nordic flavours to contemporary Baltic dining

At the heart of the lunch is gastronomy. Guests will experience a menu created by some of the region’s most exciting culinary names, highlighting Estonia’s strong focus on sustainability, seasonality and Nordic innovation.

Among the featured talents is Lena Flaten, known for her sustainable and seasonal Nordic cuisine, alongside Daanius Aas, head chef of the Green Michelin-starred restaurant Hiis. Also contributing to the culinary experience are Fotografiska, celebrated internationally for its award-winning sustainable gastronomy, Lore Bistro with its modern interpretations of classic dishes, and Café Ott & Matilda, a beloved local café recognised for its homemade cooking and relaxed atmosphere.

More than simply a lunch, the event reflects Estonia’s growing reputation as one of the Nordic-Baltic region’s most dynamic culinary and creative destinations — where innovative gastronomy meets a new generation of designers, chefs and cultural creators redefining the country’s international image.
