Lewis Hamilton’s vegan burger chain ready to put the burners on its expansion plans

Neat Burger has now opened in Lower Manhattan with plans for a further 30 restaurants across the globe.

A vegan burger chain, part owned by racing driver Lewis Hamilton and Hollywood A-lister Leonardo DiCaprio, has opened its first permanent US restaurant in New York City.

Neat Burger had previously operated a pop-up in UrbanSpace on Park Avenue, and following the success of the venture decided to open as a permanent fixture in the city.

The restaurant in Lower Manhattan has, what it terms, ‘veganized’ a selection of all-American classics, with a grilled cheez and patty melt sandwich, stacked burgers, chick’n sandwiches, hot dogs and a whole lot more.

The chain was founded in the UK with Hamilton, who adopted a plant-based diet in 2017, at the forefront of plans to expand the model, with reports that it is looking to open 30 more franchises across the globe on top of its now ten permanent operations – eight in the UK (all London), the New York restaurant plus another in Dubai. “The response to Neat Burger since we opened has been incredible,” said Hamilton in a previous press statement. “I’m really proud of the boundaries we have been able to push in this space, and the plans for expansion are really exciting.”

Neat Burger Nolita in New York is at 25 Cleveland Place, Lower Manhattan, and is open from 10.30am to 10pm every day.
