Restaurant Guide 2024: The best restaurants in Vienna in ten categories

Falstaff presents the best culinary addresses in the Austrian capital with separate lists of the best Chinese, Japanese, French and Italian restaurants, as well as fish, steak and vegetarian restaurants, rounded off by the best pubs and the top addresses for breakfast and brunch.

Vienna is a city like no other. The new Falstaff Restaurant and Inn Guide 2024 reveals a wealth of addresses in a wide range of categories that should not be missed. No matter what you're in the mood for, everyone will find something to suit their taste in Vienna.

In addition to the best addresses in the country, Steirereck and Amador, which lead the way in the federal capital with 100 points each, there is an enormous range of great restaurants. For example, it is worth taking a trip to Simmering, where the Gasthaus Stern, the pub of the year , is located. A real model restaurant that upholds the tradition of Viennese cuisine, celebrates offal according to all the rules of the art, prepares the good old Wiener Schnitzel not just incidentally, but with seriousness and elegance and shows at a nominally difficult address how great Viennese cuisine is across the board.

Italian cuisine is undoubtedly one of the Austrians' favorite cuisines: Fabios and Mangia e Ridi are two fixed starters among the best Italian restaurants in Vienna. In third place is an exciting newcomer: the Cucina Itameshi from the Mochi masterminds.

Overall rating for Vienna

The ranking is based on the total number of points and the food rating.

The overall work of art remains a gold standard, especially when it comes to service (from "Brot-Andi" to the cheese trolley). The world-class cuisine, especially when it comes to vegetables, puts surprising things on the famous menu.
