The red wine Nicolas Catena Zapata, vintage 2004 from the winery Bodega Catena Zapata has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points.
Deep ruby in colour with purple reflections, and a broad ochre rim. On the nose, a multi-faceted, perfectly ripe bouquet with aromas of fine cassis, nougat, black cherry, and orange zest. The juicy, elegant palate is mineral and persistent with a lively structure, fresh plum, cherry, and a hint of eucalyptus, with red berry notes on the finish. It has remained at the plateau of drinking maturity and clearly still has a lot to offer.
