The red wine Catena Zapata Malbec Argentino, vintage 2022 from the winery Bodega Catena Zapata has been rated in 2025 by Peter Moser with 95 Falstaff points.
Deep dark ruby in colour with an opaque core, purple reflections, and subtle brightening on the rim. On the nose, a hint of vanilla, cranberry, cassis and caramel, underpinned by smoky spice. The palate is full-bodied and elegant, with round, firm almost silky tannins, with ripe cherry and plum and a spicy chocolate touch on the persistent finish, already approachable, has ageing potential, an elegant, very juicy food wine.
