The red wine Monte Real Gran Reserva Rioja DOCa from the winery Bodegas Riojanas has been rated in 2018 by Benjamin Herzog & Dominik Vombach with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Tempranillo from the region La Rioja in Spain.
Very typical Gran Reserva nose with aromas of plum and berries tending towards balsamic as well as grown-up notes such as coffee and tobacco. Not heavy on the palate, but very elegant and pleasantly fresh. Good length. A contemporary Gran Reserve with a lot of typicity.
