The red wine Siepi IGT, vintage 2007 from the winery Castello di Fonterutoli has been rated in 2011 with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Merlot from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Dark, impenetrable ruby in colour with a purple shimmer. Opens on the nose with pronounced savoury notes of thyme, then lots of crisp berry fruit, elderberry and subtle smoky notes in the background. Shows beautiful playfulness on the palate, which unfolds with extremely dense tannins. There's plenty of drive on the finish.
