Tasting Notes
Deep carmine garnet in colour, with orange reflections and an ochre rim. Inviting, sweet berry fruit on the nose, with blackberry jam and fine honey notes making for a very attractive bouquet. There's a fine herbal savouriness of lovage in the background too. Juicy and sweet on the palate, with very good complexity and vivid, very well-integrated tannins supporting the chocolaty finish. Nuances of maple syrup start to show on the finish, which has great length and pronounced fruit. Very convincing, one of the best 1985s at this tasting. Drink / cellar +20.
