The red wine Syrah Cayas, vintage 2018 from the winery Domaine Jean-René Germanier has been rated in 2021 by Benjamin Herzog, Dominik Vombach und Ursula Geiger with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Valais in Switzerland.
Dark ruby red with an opaque core. Intense, dark berry fruit on the nose with notes of elderberry, blackberry, cassis and plum. With air, more and more savouriness and a fine oak aroma are added. Very vivid on the palate, with fine, superb tannins and crisp acidity. Intense until the long, spicy-peppery finish. Currently still very young, needs to mature.
