The red wine Hermitage La Chapelle, vintage 2019 from the winery Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné has been rated in 2022 by Ulrich Sautter, Peter Moser, Dominik Vombach, Anne Krebiehl with 100 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Côtes du Rhône in France.
Very dark in colour. An aroma at the intersection of fresh fruit (wild blueberry), savoury (menthol, black pepper and juniper), ripe fruit (black cherry and raisin), plus some wood. On the palate the wine has a maximum of the finest tannin, despite the immense density, the wine has no astringency; acidity and tactile minerality hold the sweet, full, oily body together, yet this somehow seems weightless and fine. Very, very long.
