The red wine Hermitage AOC Ermitage Le Méal, vintage 2016 from the winery Ferraton Père & Fils has been rated in 2019 by Ulrich Sautter with 94 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Côtes du Rhône in France.
The fragrance is flinty, with bitter chocolate, herbs and caramel. The palate is silky with powerful drive, but everything is finely resolved, with strong alcohol and gentle acidity, less mineral on the palate than on the nose. It finishes round and harmonious and seems all in all rather well-behaved.
