The white wine Casteller Schlossberg Silvaner, vintage 1957 from the winery Fürstlich Castell’sche Domäne has been rated in 2018 by Rainer Schäfer with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Grüner Sylvaner from the region Franconia in Germany.
Tasting Notes
The golden colour and the bouquet with dried apricot, honey, orange zest and beeswax suggest a rich wine. In the mouth, however, it is austere, bone-dry and dominated by crisp acidity, which is higher than the alcohol content of 7.5 percent. A natural and unadorned wine, as a member of the "Verband Deutscher Naturweinversteigerer" (Association of German Natural Wine Auctioneers), the Domänenamt has refrained from any enrichment.
