The white wine »Granit« trocken, vintage 2017 from the winery Fürstlich Castell’sche Domäne has been rated in 2020 by Ulrich Sautter with 91 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Alter Fränkischer Satz from the region Franconia in Germany.
Tasting Notes
Flint and meadow herbs and wormwood. On the palate there is pithy acidity and very strong dry phenolics. Probably an experiment with ageing in granite vessels - since there are no granitic vineyards in the Steigerwald subregion. Experimental and definitely with a chance of evolution.
