Deep ruby with an opaque core, purple reflections and delicate rim brightening. Delicately tobacco, mineral nuances of slate and dark nougat, hints of blackberry confit and black cherry, a touch of sweet spices. Substantial, elegant texture, ripe plum, supporting tannins, seems comparatively fresh for the vintage. Pleasantly dry style, very good length, secure future with certain ageing potential, perhaps the wine of the vintage, time will tell.
