Tasting Notes
This rarity, aged over 50 years in wooden barrels, comes from grapes of Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro and Cabernet, among others, and goes through a three-stage solera. A full 330 bottles were offered of the wine tasted. Strong amber with orange reflections, nutty rancio hints on the nose, heightened with candied lemon zest, distinctive but well-tempered oak savouriness, dried fruit nuances, the 20% alcohol is also noticeable. The palate is very concentrated, again nutty and complex, has a well-integrated sweetness, aromatic depth and persistent aromatics, a rare, expensive, but also a great pleasure.
