The red wine Burdese IGT, vintage 2008 from the winery Planeta has been rated in 2012 with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc from the region Sicily in Italy.
Bright ruby colour with purple shimmer. Very intense nose with lots of ripe dark berry fruit, very clear, lots of cassis, then blackberry and tobacco. Straightforward and clear on the palate, lots of juicy fruit, then opens up with firm, full-bodied tannins, gives the wine plenty of grip, long finish. Bordeaux with Mediterranean flair.
