The red wine Sondraia Bolgheri Superiore DOC, vintage 2016 from the winery Poggio al Tesoro has been rated in 2019 by Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler with 92 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Intense and dark shiny ruby red. Attractive savoury nose of ripe cherry, raspberry, fine wood savouriness and cool smoke. Compact and grippy on the palate, delicate tannin, youthful, but with a harmonious finish and subtle drive. Still needs time to evolve.
