The red wine Sondraia Bolgheri Superiore DOC, vintage 2018 from the winery Poggio al Tesoro has been rated in 2021 by Othmar Kiem und Simon Staffler with 93 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc from the region Tuscany in Italy.
Elegant ruby red. Ripe, expressive fruit on the nose, rich cherry, raspberry and forest berry cordial, a note of sage, an underlying elegant savouriness and a touch of smoke. Textured on the palate, with finely-meshed tannin, clear, ripe fruit, some malt, still very youthful, needs some bottle ageing.
