The red wine Atlantis Fe2O3 1b Syrah, vintage 2005 from the winery Sine Qua Non has been rated in 2016 by Peter Moser with 98 Falstaff points. It is a wine made from the grape variety Syrah from the region Central Coast in United States.
Dark ruby garnet with a solid core and purple reflections, and a slightly lightening rim. An intense nose of black berries and fresh orange zest, as well as hints of liquorice and more mineral underpinnings. The palate is similarly complex, pronounced in fruit and with fine, ripe tannins. Delicate hints of nougat emerge with time, as well as a finesse-rich acid structure. The finish brings a subtle wood savouriness as well as a hint of Valrhôna on the back palate. The salty finish, which lingers for minutes, hints at great promise for the future.
